What do you do if you are sick on set?
Being sick on set is the absolute worst. Having to slump along during the day while feeling lethargic can be very difficult to get through. Here are a few tips for getting through the day and making your life a little easier.
The first option is to stay home instead of going to work. Take care of yourself and others. When you go to work sick, you spread it to everyone else, who then spread it to their families. It is so much better to just stay home for a few days and get healthy, then get back to work. If you are feeling sick the day before, it is a good idea to have a replacement standing by on a soft hold. That way you can call them the night of to give them their call time if they have to come in to replace you.
If you can’t get a replacement, make sure that you stay isolated and hydrated all day. Do minimal wiring (unless absolutely necessary) so you do not get your talent sick.
Take care of yourself and others and your production will be much better off. Always remember: The show will go on, and you will get you on another shoot.
